Abstract
The da Vinci® surgical system is now used to treat laryngeal cancer, hypopharyngeal cancer and reconstructive surgery to advance head and neck cancer. This report describes two cases of mesopharyngeal carcinoma treated using Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS), which were the first and second TORS cases in Japan. Case 1 was tongue base cancer T1N0M0, and case 2 was post wall mesopharynx cancer T2N0M0. In both cases the operation was completed using TORS, with no worsening of their dysphagia and with good local control.
