Abstract
We studied the effect of fast after exercise using mice.
The control group was fed freely after one hour exercise at fast every day for six days. There were two experimental groups, one fed for 4hours after exercise, then fasted for 4hours and there after fed freely; the other fasted for 4hours after the exercise, and then fed freely.
1. Body weight of the two experimental groups increased significantly compared with the control.
2. The experimental group that fasted for 4hours after exercise was same with the control group at the weight of abdominal fat, but significantly increased the weight of muscle (M. Gastrocunemius) than the control. The other group that fed 4hours after exercise decreased the weight of muscle, significantly increased the weight of fat than the control.
3. To be promoted the synthesis of fat by the feeding immediately after exercise was supposed to be produced by the decrease of glucose tolerance and the increase of tryptophan oxygenase (T. O.) activity in liver.
4. To be promoted the synthesis of protein by the feeding after 4hours fasting after exercise was supposed to be produced by the decrease of gluconeogenesis and of TO activity in liver.
