The Sense of Burden of Mother with Severely Disabled Children at Home and the Related Factors

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the feature of the burden of mother with the severely disabled children at home, and the factors that influence it. The self-registering question paper was investigated for 177 people. The result were that mothers obviously felt the heavy burden, and the sense of burden was composed of three factors; "Hardness on daily life", "Care anxiety", and "Social role limitation". " Care anxiety" was factor what a lot of mothers hold extremely, and its average was highest in three factors, "Hardness on daily life" and "Social role limitation" were strongly influenced. Catching the child positively by his mother, satisfaction with her husband's cooperation, and the amount of her social support from surroundings could be reduced mother's the sense of burden, and made "Hardness on daily life" and "Social role limitation" reduced especially. However, the influence could give to mother that the level of child's ability was stronger, so that suggested that the sense of burden of mother with a heavier physically and mentally disabled child would be strong.
