A Case of Malignant Transformation of Oral Leukoplakia at the Dorsum of Tongue

Abstract
A tongue cancer of the dorsum of tongue is very rare. Although there is some case reports that malignant transformation from median rhomboid glossitis, report of malignant transformation of the dorsum leukoplakia is very rare.
We report a case of malignant transformation of oral leukoplakia at the dorsum of tongue.
A 41-year-old Japanese man was referred to our hospital with the chief complaint of white spot lesion at the dorsum of tongue. The primary pathology diagnosis was hyperkeratosis. So we started follow-up him, but he stopped going to our hospital.
And he was referred to the increase of the dorsum mass for main complaint again five years later. The secondary pathology diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma.
We must follow-up in consideration of malignant transformation, If there are Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders at the dorsum of tongue such as a white lesions, glossitis, red lesions.
