Abstract
There are various challenges to treating cases of odontogenic myxofibroma in children. An 8-year-old boy was referred to our department following a radiolucent finding in his right mandible. The lesion was unilocular and well-defined. A diagnosis of odontogenic myxofibroma was established through biopsy. At the same time, the tumor was enucleated as far as possible and the wound kept open. After 10 months, when new bone was generated, the remaining tumor was conservatively excised with peripheral ostectomy. The postoperative course has been uneventful for 3 years and 8 months, without tumor recurrence.
