Abstract

Although CPSP is believed to be poor indication for SCS, we encountered a case of CPSP wherein BurstDRTM stimulation was effective the stimulation-off time could be prolonged. The patient was 60-year-old woman with pain in the left side of her body, which emerged after right brain infarction. Because medication and nerve block were conducted ineffectively, she was referred to our clinic for the purpose of SCS trial. Her pain was alleviated with BurstDRTM stimulation, so we conducted SCS implantation. As for SCS, habituation and tolerance against SCS stimulation is one of the major problems, so we tried prolongation of the stimulation-off time. We could prolong stimulation-off time from 90 sec to 360 sec without impairing the effect of SCS stimulation.
