Abstract

In this report, the fatigue strength and repeated impact strength of the chain link-plates sub-jected to shot peening are shown. The experimental results are as follows.
1) The fatigue strength is improved to the increase of about 85% when the chain link-plates are subjected to shot peening on the condition that shot diamater is 0.5mm, peening time 20 min, pass number 10kg. times, shot speed 38 m/s, arc-hight 0.32mm, Coveraige 82.1% andtotal weight of shot 75
2) In the case of repeated impact with impact energy from 20kg·cm to 50kg·cm, the effect of shot peening is a little. And with comparatively high impact energy from 81kg·cm to 556kg·cm, the effect of shot peening is not significant.
