Study of the Crush-Driessing on Cylindrical Grinding Machine

Abstract

The advantages of the crush-dressing has been already highly evaluated, but the example of it's adoption on the cylindrical grinding machine for common use has been little seen.
In this report, the authors made the nomogram which enables to select the best condition in crush-dressing on the cylindrical grinding machine, for common use, for the rigidity of machine, grinding wheel, grinding width, and so on, by which the operator can understand easily such a condition. At the same time the native crushing pressure, which is the basis of crush-dressing, of evey grinding wheel is researched fully, and the crush-dressing mechanism is also surveied. It was proved in these studies that there are in the crush-dressing the following three domains ; the initial crushing, normal crushing, crushing-out.
The result of the above mentioned studies led to know how to reduce the wears of roll and grinding wheel and, furthermore, to know that there is really the limit in grinding by means of crushdressing.
These studies were performed with the expect that their results should put the crush-dressing to the practical use.
