Abstract
The possibillity of the hot-extrusion processing of YBa2Cu3Or powder was examined. The starting powder was prepared from Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO powders using the conventional ceramic procedure, and capsulated in copper bullet. The bullet was preheated at a tewperature from 700° to 1000°C for 5 minutes, and then extruded by pressing at a maximum load of about 40 ton. Hardness measurement of the ceramic after extrusion showed that the processing had a good effect on the densification of the ceramic.
