Abstract
In order to prepare the single high-Tc phase in the Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system, the chemical compositions and the heat treatment conditions were examined. The addition of the excess amount of calcium and the two-step heat treatment were more effective to promote the formation of the high-Tc phase and to shorten the heat treatment time. The sample with the nominal composition of Bi0.96Pb0.24Sr1.0Ca1.1Cu1.6Oxheat treated at 850°C for 24h-70h was mostly composed of high-Tc phase. The content of Pb in the sample was considerably decreased by the heat treatment and reduced to 1/2-1/3 of its initial value.
