Abstract
The single crystals of the superconductor in Bi system were prepared by gradual cooling method using the compound calcined Bi2O3, SrCO3, CaCO3, and CuO powders. The growth runs were started at 960°C and a cooling rate of 5-16°C/h was employed. Single crystals 5×3×0.5mm3 were obtained. They showed that the zero-resistivity temperature was 78K, indicating the low temperature phase. It was also verified by XRD. The annealing at 840°C in 30h did not change the characteristics of the resistivity and XRD. The starting material with the differnt composition from the stoichiometry showed lower zero-resistivity temper-ature as a polycrystal.
