Electrical Properties of Superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Ceramics prepared by Hot-forge Processing

Abstract

Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂O_x and Bi_1.8Pb_0.4Sr₂Ca₂Cu₂0_x Powders Prepared by solid state reaction were encupsulated in the molds made of different kinds of metals. The molds were preheated at 820-840°C for 10 minutes and then press-forged under uniaxial compressive loads. The reducing effect of the metallic molds on superconducting character of the hot-forged ceramics was discussed in this note.
