Abstract
Mechanism of sintering of ferrite magnet-OP magnet-is investigated. Mixed powder of several metal oxides and ferrite powder are both sintered, measured in changes of shrinkage, porosity and intensity of magnetization with sintering and compared each other. As results, sintering process of ferrite magnet takes three stages:
(1) Reaction and sintering both proceeds rapidly.
(2) Reaction proceeds slowly and sintering ceases.
(3) Reaction comes to an end, but sintering proceeds again. Finally the cause of sintering process in 2nd stage is discussed and considered to be the effect of solid state reaction.
