Abstract

We report intrauterine fetal death(IUFD)with complete placenta previa in monochorionic monoamniotic twins at 25 weeks of gestation. Expectant management was selected with the aim of vaginal delivery. Ultrasonography and blood tests(white blood cells, c-reactive protein, coagulation system, and human chorionic gonadotropin)were performed every week. On Day 27 after IUFD, magnetic resonance imaging of the pelvis showed placental atrophy and decreased placental blood flow. On Day 39, the patient was admitted because of increased vaginal bleeding. On Day 41, labor pains occurred, and the fetuses and placenta were vaginally delivered. Total bleeding was 845 mL and duration of labor was 4 hour 41 minutes. Expectant management is a safe option for IUFD with placenta previa.
