Abstract
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the bronchus is relatively rare tumor. We report a case of mucoepidermoid carcinoma which was diagnosed by the transbronchial tumor biopsy. A 29 year-old female was admitted complainting of hemosputum. Her chest X-ray film showed atelectasis of the right lower lobe. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy was performed and a tumor mass which almost occuluded the lumen of the right lower lobe bronchus was noted. The histological examination of the biopy specimen revealed mucoepidermoid carcinoma of bronchus, and right middle and lower lobectomy was performed. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy is a important tool for the diagnosis of bronchial adenoma.
