Abstract

Background. Fibroepithelial polyp of the bronchus is a rare benign type of epithelial polyp. We report a case of fibroepithelial polyp arising in the right main bronchus, which was excised by bronchoscopic high-frequency electrosurgical snaring. Case. The patient was a 53-year-old man who was referred to our hospital due to a chest X-ray abnormality. Chest computed tomography and biopsy revealed a fibroepithelial polyp, the stalk of which was attached to the main bronchus. The polyp was excised endoscopically with high-frequency electrosurgical snaring. Conclusion. Fibroscopy is a very useful for the diagnosis and treatment of benign bronchial polyp.
