Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the evaluation results obtained from the Chinese students, the Chinese students in Japan, and the Japanese students who assessed a total of 20 pieces of composed pictures consisting of 4 kinds of urban scenery pictures and 5 kinds of green style pictures of China and Japan. As a result of two-way analysis of variance on attributes and the green style, we could clarify the difference and common evaluation among three participant groups. In addition, we found that two factors, i.e., attribute and the style of green roof, had an effect on the evaluation of each picture independently or alternately, and that the influence of the green style on impressions such as “desirability” or “comfortable” was different depending on each attribute. From these results, we could understand a part of the evaluation structure of the Chinese people about the green roof scenery and obtain new insights of the way how the Chinese green roof scenery should be in the future from the perspective of scenery.
