Abstract
We monitored the vegetation transition at an artificial beach in Osaka Bay for 10 years since creation. The results showed that the species number and composition of the vegetation stabilized in approximately 5 years after the beach creation. Because this study area is almost completely surrounded by reclaimed lands, the continuous transport of the seeds of marine species from offshore appears to be difficult. As the number of individuals of invasive alien species, such as Senecio madagascariensis, is increasing in the study area, it is necessary for future research to monitor them at the site from an early stage.
