There is a lack of scientific knowledge necessary for formulating basic plans for urban parks that enhance biodiversity. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between stand structure in urban parks and Tree-related Microhabitats (TreMs)—a comprehensive biodiversity indicator—using 3D point cloud data acquired via LiDAR SLAM. Furthermore, the research sought to propose specific forest management guidelines from a TreM-based perspective. Analysis of the relationship between stand structure indicators derived from 3D point cloud data and the abundance of TreM revealed that a higher total basal area was associated with an increase in deadwood-related TreM, whereas closed canopies and high tree density reduced woodpecker-related TreM. These findings suggest that an effective biodiversity-oriented basic plans for urban parks involves maintaining large-diameter trees while ensuring that the canopy does not become overly closed.
