STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INTERVAL-CENSORED SAMPLE

Abstract

An interval-censored sample problem, i.e., the situation where each observation is specified only by an interval, is formulated and the existence of MLE is discussed for one parameter case. It is shown, in particular, that an MLE does exist provided the sample size is sufficiently large and that it is unique in some special cases.
