A present state and clinical problems of long term outcome of patients with acquired hemophilia A in our hospital

Abstract
We analyzed a present state and clinical problems of long term outcome of patients with acquired hemophilia A in our hospital to know treatment or management essential for clinical practice. Patients were 8 males and 2 females, mean age was 71 years. Nine patients received immunosuppressive treatment and 9 patients received hemostatic treatment. Mean period to APTT normalization, period to disappearance of inhibitor, all treatment period, and admission period were 42, 61, 96, and 62 days, respectively. One patient died with hemorrhage and 9 patients achieved complete remission. As for 9 alive patients, two patients got worse in performance status (PS), 7 patients did not change PS level including 2 patients of PS 0. Outcome of the patients in complete remission were 3 death which died in 3 months, 4 transfer to other hospital, and 2 outpatients. All transfer patients were in 3 or more PS. High age patients with severe complicated diseases hardly return to society. It is important to treat comprehensively with making sure long outcome or treatment goal by adequate evaluation of patient or its complicated disease.
