Thermal conductivities of molten semiconductors (Si, Ge, GaSb and InSb) near their melting points are reviewed. Measured thermal conductivities show different values depending on measurement methods. This is mainly due to natural convection during measurements. In order to reduce this convection, two approaches can be considered; utilization of microgravity environment and magnetic field. Thermal conductivity measurements in micro-gravity, some of which were already carried out and the others in future, are also summarized in this review. Recent results of thermal conductivity measurement for mercury in a magnetic field are shown.
