Abstract
PVT relations of fluid mixtures are reviewed. The statistical thermodynamic fundamentals of equations of states (EOS) are shown. Types of equations of states are classified as (1) van der Waals type and virial expansion EOS, (2) EOS based on the perturbation theory, and (3) EOS based on Monte Cario simulation are explained. The mixing rules required to apply EOS to fluid mixtures are described for both the conventional miring rule and the asymmetric (local mole fraction type) mixing rule. Applicability of EOS to pure fluids and their mixtures are presented.
