Abstract
The high dosage sefazolin infusion (CezS) against lactation bovine mastitis was applied clinically to 33 cattle with lactation mastitis (33 udders) without fever more than 40°C. They were given only once with whole dose of one container infused into their udders on the first sick day. Before and 6 or 7 days after the administration, clinic alexamination and milk test were made to judge its effectiveness. Also, the study of the conventional treatment result of CezQR was made from the treatment charts of 12 bovines (26 udders), with was compared with CezS treatment result. The efficiency rate of milk cows which showed improvement in the. clinical examination or milk test was 84.8 % in CezS and 92.3 % in CezQR and any significant difference was recognized between them. 45 strains of bacteria separated from mastitis (among them 23 strains were staphylococcus aureus) showed high sensitivity to Cez and MIC 50/MIC 90 ratio was less than 2. From this result, one dose of CezS is expected to be as effective as three doses of CezQR, which will result in the treatment saving and shortening of medication stop period. As a result, we came to a conclusion that its efficacy is high.
