The Japanese rhinoceros beetle Trypoxylus dichotoma captured in Obihiro City, Hokkaido.

Abstract

The Japanese rhinoceros beetle Trypoxylus dichotoma is an alien species in Hokkaido. Previously, the beetle has been recorded at Otofuke Town and Ikeda Town in Tokachi Sub-prefecture, Hokkaido. Here, we newly report the occurrence of the beetle in Obihiro City. We placed six banana-baited traps and captured five beetles.
