Bat fauna in the Fukado Moor and Fukado Primeval Forest in the Hida Region, Gifu Prefecture, Japan

Abstract

Faunal survey of bats in the Fukado Moor and Fukado Native Forest, Gifu Prefecture, Japan was carried out from May to September in 2018. Thirteen bats belonging to five species, the greater horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus ferrumequinum), Ussurian tube-nosed bat (Murina ussuriensis), Asian parti-colored bats (Vespertilio sinensis), Ikonnikov’s Myotis (Myotis ikonnikovi) and Endo’s pipistrelle (Pipistrellus endoi) were captured and marked with a metal bat-ring before they were released. Ikonnikov’s Myotis was confirmed to breed in this area.
