Abstract
This article reports the study conducted on the Japanese simplification system called Yasashikunaare. The aim of the study was to gain learners' perspectives on the practicality of the Japanese simplification system. The subject of this study was a group of intermediate Japanese learners. The experiment was carried out and the post experiment interviews were conducted. The results indicated that the majority of participants found the system beneficial. However, the study also found that the approach to reading methods varies among the participants and so were their needs.
