Abstract
Undergraduate international students should acquire high-school-level technical terms and
technical collocations before or soon after entering university as an undergraduate. This presentation uses economic technical collocations selected from junior high and high school textbooks to clarify the following two roles of technical collocations: (1) meaningful usage of technical terms; and (2) learning items for technical concepts. It is pointed out that (2) can be used as a classification standard for learning technical vocabulary and as a resource for learning technical collocations.
