Abstract
Based on practice, this paper discusses the training methods for listening skills in interpretation for students with inadequate Japanese language ability. In the process of interpretation, the listener is required to handle multiple tasks such as listening, comprehending and remembering at the same time. Thus, in the training session, we should adopt the method of “retention” for generally understanding the main content, while adopt the method of “shadowing” for the details, in order to help the students comprehend the whole content of the text and improve their ability of multi-tasking required by interpretation. Meanwhile, focusing on these students’ inadequate Japanese language ability, this paper also puts forwards several ideas on the curriculum design and the choice of exercise materials.
