Abstract
An increasing number of students with unbalanced Japanese language skills are joining intermediate classes at Chinese universities without receiving pronunciation instruction in the early stages of Japanese language study. Teachers need to understand this point and flexibly incorporate basic pronunciation instruction without sticking to the traditional intermediate class syllabus. In teaching pronunciation, teachers must make learners aware of the vowel length at the end of the kanji vocabulary.
