Abstract
This study comprised a campus visit project to “connect with society” for Japanese-language learners and Japanese university students in the academic year 2025 aimed at narrating “stories about themselves” and collaboratively considering and discussing their own ideal town (i.e., Hamamatsu City). The campus visit was informed by three key characteristics. First, using “visual narratives” enabled participants to spontaneously express their experiences and thoughts about their past, present, and future. Second, raising awareness of their being as “social agents” fostered a sense that “we” (the participants) were creating “our” (their) town. Finally, the use of plurilingual skills enabled participants to express their opinions and thoughts extensively.
