As the results of elevation difference analysis and 3D-GIV analysis using multi-temporal LiDAR DEM often include errors ―DEM errors influenced, by vegetation, and multi-image matching errors― evaluation and interpretation of the results are usually required. This study examines the characteristics of these analysis results generated by LiDAR DEM from case studies under different conditions. The results show that, LiDAR DEM is useful to effectively estimate the slope movements comprehensively by combining the distribution of micro-topography data of main scarps and minor scarps of landslides, the data of the changed area obtained from the elevation difference analysis, and the movement vector data obtained from the 3D-GIV analysis. Through the combination of the analysis results, it becomes possible to estimate the slope movements and movement patterns of landslides and to classify landslide changes into landslide types, collapse, river blockage, etc. Moreover, effective results are obtained even in analysis using existing digital elevation models with different resolutions ; thus, applying LiDAR DEM combining various analysis results is expected to be useful for landslide disaster prevention and response.
