In recent years, many papers on the ancient landslides have been reported, but, there are few reports that investigate in detail geologically and applied geologically
Moriai and Chiba (1985, 1986) have studied the form of ancient landslides along the Dozan river, the Tsunokawa river watershed and from a view point of geologic phenomenon in their fieldwork, they have reported that the recent landslide was affected by the ancient one.
After that, we have investigated many data about internal structure in Toyomaki landslide synthetically. As a result, a lot of same phenomena and structure of ancient landslide were found in detail.
We believe that the paper will be of great value in interpreting the large scale landslide of the Tertiary in Japan.
