Abstract
Analyzing deformation and stress of EARTH ANCHOR BEAM (gridwork type) under the elastic theory, two kinds of span exist through the beam between two anchors.
1 Pressed span; the portion which pushes down the ground surface.
2 Free span; the portion which is swelted out from the ground surface.
These depend on Es, EI, and anchor span.
CHANG's equation, which is led to the long pile vertically put into underground, is commonly used to analyze the stress of EARTH ANCHOR BEAM.
It may be acceptable to apply this equation in calculating EARTH ANCHOR BEAM as far as maximam value is concerned.
But it may be not enough to analyze every parts of span in detail.
