Abstract
Rock mass failure and rock fall problems have been investigated for a long time, but the definite and acceptable solution is not given yet. This general report summarizes the recent researches and investigations (mainly in Japan) in relation to this topic. New technologies, measurement systems, observation, numerical methods and latest concepts for reduction of damage from rock failure are presented. The future works to be accomplished are carefully described.
