Abstract

This study investigates attitudes toward basic standing posture in Ballet and Kendo. Attitudes concerning the body by supecialists in both areas are desclibed on a questionnaire. This deta was reviewed and classified according to defferences and communalities between the two. The results suggests that both arts show several similarities on the human body. In the present day we draw a line between dance and budo. It has been assumed that Ballet has nothing to do with Kendo. But this study finds many similarities between the two in regards to sensibilities toward standing position.
