Abstract

AST Chiro Qi-gong (AST Qi-gong) has been reported about the effects on several diseases including cancer on clinical stance, hitherto. However, critical mechanism of therapeutic effect of AST Qi-gong has never been well known. Authors tried to investigate the effects of AST Qi-gong on the expression of 70 kDa heat-shock protein (HSP 70) in gastric cancer and colon cancer tissue by histopathological method. Immunohistochemical study showed the significant induction of the expression of HSP 70 in the area of well and moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma in 7 cases out of 10. It was interesting that the induction was stronger in the well and moderately differentiated area than in poorly differentiated area. However, because the critical reason of this interest was not well understood, further study is indispensable. In this study, it was suggested that AST Qi-gong induced the HSP70 expression to inhibit the cancer growth by presenting the cancer targeting antigen for inducing anti-cancer immunity
