Abstract
Synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular
joint is a rare disease, and extra-articular
synovial condromatosis of the temporomandibular
joint is even rarer. A review of the
English literature from 1980 to 2000 has revealed 51
cases of synovial chondromatosis affecting the
temporomandibular joint.
We report a case of extra-articular synovial condromatosis,
for which we carried out a long-term
follow-up of the postoperative course using diagnostic
images.
