A desalination system which employs absorption refrigerators using concentrated seawater and seawater is proposed as a water resource for arid region. The absorption refrigerator can be manufactured from recyclable materials such as paper and plastics. In this paper, an outline of the desalination system is discussed referring to reduction of carbon dioxide emission and planting in arid region, using a theoretical method which is developed to simulate performance of the system.
