Abstract
The technology to convert an existing gasoline MPI engine into an LPG engine with liquid fuel injection system was developed. In this report, engine torque and power, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions of the LPG engine with this system were compared with the gasoline engine. As a result of these comparisons, it was clear that the converted LPG engine system has the great potential to improve these performances at high load condition, because the LPG engine has a great antiknock quality. Moreover, the exhaust emissions at partial load could be reduced to less than those of the gasoline engine, as well.
