Abstract

The authors investigated the annual variation of K. H. layer in various points of view by the use of Japanese Ursigram. And they also considered the characteristics of the terrestrial magnetism and its relation to the height of K. H. layer. The maximum height of Ion-condensation of E. layer is about 110km in summer and 110_??_120km in winter. This result agrees with the theory of E. V. Appleton. The Height of F2 layer is 310_??_360km in summer, 240_??_290km in winter. The Ion condensation of F2-layer is Nmax=5.5×105 (summer), Nmax>6.0×105 (other seasons), and has contrary tendency to that of E layer.
The authors also investigated the relation between the height of K. H. layer and the annual variation of the terrestrial magnetism from various points of view, but could not get a definite conclusion.
