Abstract

In the present parer are stated the results of the statistical investigation on the distribution of the thunderstorms, their probable tracks and geographical characteristics, basing on the data of fourteen years. The relation between the frequency of thunderstorms and rice-crop is also investigated. The main results are as follows:
1. The tracks of the most thunderstorms are directed to northeastward, and those of some thunderstorms to eastward and southeastward.
2. Heat thunderstorms occur most frequently in Hukusima prefecture and frontal thunderstorms in Akita prefecture respectively.
3. Frontal thunderstorms came from Akita prefecture have very narrow range and scarcely reach to the east side of Ou mountain range.
4. There exists a close relation between the frequency of the heat thunderstorms and the ricecrop.
