Abstract
Synchronous meteorological satellite data for the tornado producing squall line of March 20, 1976 were examined. Both the Infrared and Visible observations were found to be more than adequate to define one of these meso-convective systems on the scale of the cloud.
Covariance and cross-covariance functions were modeled from the data and subsequently used to infer a sampling lattice in xyt sufficient to explain at least 85% of the signal variance.
