Abstract
The structure and the characteristics of a new magnetic shielding device are described. This shielding device utilizes a certain magnetic circuit in which C-shaped magnetic sheets are combined in a cage-like shape. This is effective in both screening out the unwanted external field and in reducing the leakage flux from magnetic field generators. Because this device has space between magnetic sheets, it is useful for the cooling of magnetic field generators and allows a saving in the amount of magnetic material required.
