Abstract
It is important to measure mechanical stress with a non-destructive method for magnetic materials. A magnetic anisotropy sensor (MAS), which is previously applied to the stress or torque sensor, is also available for the detection of magnetic anisotropy of the materials to estimate their stress or defect noncontactly. However, since the MAS is a probe type sensor, it is affected by the external magnetic field, which is a serious problem for practical use. This paper discusses an effect of the external magnetic field to the MAS and proposes a method to reduce its influence.
