Abstract
The proposed noncontact magnetic gear using permanent magnet has many performance characteristics to remove gear noise and vibration. As the magnetic gear is an oilless machine element, it is useful to operate at clean and vaccum room.
But the magnetic gear tooth profile which is composed of a permanent magnet has a weak point in that it slips at high speed starting. For the practical use of the magnetic gear, this paper deals with the high speed starting method of the magnetic gear for connecting directly with the driving motor.
As a result, it was clarified that it is possible to start the trial magnetic gear at high speed, 1500 rpm, by utilizing the eddy current effect.
