Abstract
When the stress applied to soft magnetic materials is changed after demagnetization, its initial magnetization curve has a higher permeability than that of a normal magnetization curve in which the stress is not changed. This phenomenon is called the demagnetization-stress effect. It is shown that the characteristics of the demagnetization-stress effect in Si-Fe steels change according to the demagnetization frequency, and that the change becomes smaller as the applied magnetic field becomes larger. This demagnetization frequency dependence occurs as a result of changes in the samples’ domain structures.
