Abstract
Stoichiometric Ni2MnGa has a Heusler-type crystal structure and is ferromagnetic. The specimens of stoichiometric and nonstoichiometric Ni2MnGa were made by arc melt method. The phase transformation temperature and the Curie temperature of these alloys were determined by the results of a differential scanning calorimeter and A. C. magnetic permeability measurement. The phase transformation temperature increased and the Curie temperature decreased with increasing Ni composition. The phase transformation coincided with the Curie temperature in Ni2.18Mn0.82Ga.
