Abstract

A new magnetic expansion phenomenon has been observed on a magneto-static coupled type MAMMOS medium with an in-plane magnetization readout layer using DC laser power and a DC magnetic field in the readout process. On this new media, it is possible to resolve 0.22 μ m domains and to obtain a clear signal with this unique expansion phenomenon.
