Young's Modulus of Fe-based Amorphous Alloys

Abstract

Young's modulus of amorphous Fe-B, Fe-P, Co-B and (Fe, Co, Ni)₇₇Si₁₀B₁₃ alloys has been measured using an ultrasonic delay line method in magnetic fields up to 4 kOe in the temperature range from R. T. to 600°C. Young's modulus measured under the saturation of magnetization E_s in these amorphous alloys depends on the molar volume V_mol as E_s∝V_mol^-2.
